I noticed the “see also” section at the end of the entries, and thought how nice it would be if I could just touch the word I was interested in, and the “see also” information would appear. You now have a product which does just that..on your Macintosh. LinksWare sets up connections between your own text & graphics documents. It is this capability, to use files you create with your own word-processor and paint program, which gives LinksWare its power, versatility and usefulness. You don’t need to create special “cards,” or learn a new word-processor or paint program, as you would with the stack-based method. Commercial Demo.

Hidden behind the simple and intuitive user interface lies a rather complex program representing years of work. I use it as a snazzy, efficient replacement for Teach Text - Though it doesn't (yet) support graphics, SaintEdit will read any text file and is loaded with features. New features include - Multiple open windows, Memory dependent file size limit (greater than 32K!), Extensive Undo/Redo support, Safe file saving routines, FastScrolls, Drag and Drop any TEXT file, Auto read UNIX and DOS files without messing with converter, Speech Manager Support and more!!

You can copy data from them to the clipboard but not change them in any way. Shift Right and Shift Left add or remove one tab on each line or, when word wrap is in, each paragraph within the selection region. At the same time, it converts all space runs to the corresponding number of tabs. Many more features.

Use the “Map” menu to add international and U.S. state borders. Use the Zoom tools (magnifying glasses on the tool palette) to zoom into an area, or use the Map Cutout tool (dashed rectangle with scissors) to select a particular region for your map. Plot cities on the map from BaseMap DataBooks. You just decide what you want, and BaseMap does it! The demo lets you print and do alot, but not - save, print in high resolution, use the clipboard or export pict. Try it, it's great!

Notepad++ gives you 35 pages, and many more features that Apple’s utility does not provide. IMPORTANT - Just like Apple’s Note Pad, Notepad++ presents you with a “pad” of discrete pages (8 in Apple’s, 35 in ours). Text will NOT flow from page to page. Each page is a complete,self-contained document. This is a major upgrade from NotePad++ DA v1.4.1. The new features are tabs, rulers, styles and more than 32K of text (now it's more like a miniature MS Word than Apple's Notepad!!). This will work for a month before expiring.

It transforms text into a type that appears to be handwritten. PenPal works transparently with Word, appearing in the Format menu. It has certain preferences that appear in the Word Preferences dialog. PenPal will give your documents a personal touch that no computer "simulated handwriting" font could provide. It does this by choosing from a battery of fonts designed to give the writing a look of randomness. This assures that people will find the fonts, especially those occurring near each other, to have a truly handwritten appearance. Shareware. The truetype fonts which come with PenPal are also cool on their own!

The author calls this trick the Snowy Mask because the basic notion is to create masks to separate elements and areas within any logo, text or other shape. Its trivial to select edges for instance, but this technique will subdivide a shape into amazing and complex structures, but no matter how wild and woolly they get, they are related visually to the original shape and that’s....hard to come by otherwise. Give it a whirl.... it will give you a swirl or two. This is a read and follow along 12 page document in MS Word.

It's also great for putting an automatic "fax postit note" on the page or putting the word DRAFT under the text of your word processor.

Sample Surprint.sit PublishDL AMUG CD:Files:Publish:S:Sample Surprint.sit 0 26K 1/27/93 Sample Surprint - Surprint is a printing utility that allows you to overprint a large diagonal banner, a header or a footer on a document printed from nearly any application. The banner, header and footer are printed directly on top of the page(s) being printed by the application. The banner is printed as outlined text using a very thin line so you can easily read through it. It is handy for labeling documents without sending them through the printer twice or hand stamping them. People often use the banner feature to mark words such as Draft, Internal Copy and even Confidential. Also, it's lots of fun to mark a document as DO NOT READ and leave it on your desk to see how many people will read it.

Printer TMPL.sit PublishDL AMUG CD:Files:Publish:O-P:Printer TMPL.sit 0 3K 12/23/92 Printer TMPL - This is a TMPL resource and sample PREC resource. The PREC resource ID#4 in the Imagewriter file (I can't say if this will work with PREC ID's greater than 4, I rather doubt it) controls what is displayed in the Print Options Dialog. This resource may be edited to change page sizes and or to add (up to 6 sizes may be listed in the dialog - the 6th usually being an envelope size) sizes not otherwise available. I use mine to define half page and 1/3 page sizes for pseudo columns in word processors that don't otherwise support such features.

The extracted matter is stored in a new downloadable file. Why is this useful? Fifty-three pages in one dump. Page 14 was scratched in the processor. The media ran out on the magenta plate. If you make use of PS dumps, you know the boundless frustration of having to rerun a whole file to recover one lost page. When she's perfected, Lizzie will make that problem go away.

STTNGScript.sit PublishDL AMUG CD:Files:Publish:S:STTNGScript.sit 0 30K 11/16/92 STTNGScript - I’ve decided to put together this little collection of goodies I requested from Paramount Pictures in Hollywood in the hopes that other aspiring writers for “Star Trek The Next Generation” will be able to know how to properly submit their script ideas. Take note that your chances of getting a script made into an episode of STTNG are about as good as winning the lottery; bear that in mind before you spend hours molding together a script that in actuality has little or no chance of making the grade.

Freehand can, however, be modified to replace the missing font with Zapf Dingbats, or some other very noticeable font so that you may catch this error when proofing. Design Studio format.

GI#1/CS HD Management.sit PublishDL AMUG CD:Files:Publish:E-G:GI#1/CS HD Management.sit 1 0 13K 7/25/91 ColorStudio Hard Disk Management Tech Note from LetraSet - ColorStudio supports over 16 million colors. In order to do this, ColorStudio makes use of 32 bits per image pixel. Because of this, even images that are small in size will require a lot of memory. ColorStudio makes use of virtual memory files so that images that are larger than the amount of internal RAM available can be edited. A virtual memory file will use space on the hard drive as if it was internal RAM. ColorStudio will add up to 3 of these files for the current image depending on what you do. More info inside...
